Makiwa Mutomba (Self-Taught Artist)

Makiwa Mutomba was born Colin Makiwa Mufaro Mutomba in 1976 in Chivhu, Zimbabwe. He attended various schools around Zimbabwe and spent a large part of his childhood growing up on a farm at Dadaya Mission School, Where his Father was headmaster for many years. In 1995 he enrolled for a degree in Electronic Engineering in Bulawayo, but dropped out after successfully completing three years, to pursue his childhood dream of becoming an artist. Makiwa is presently based in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

DONATIONS/ COMMISIONS

2006 Donated a painting at the request of the The South African High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr Lindiwe Mabuza for auction in London to raise funds towards the Phelophepa Medical Train.

2007 Donated a painting titled Grandmother to CatPals Art Auction to raise funds for . CatPals- An organization dedicated to helping the tame , homeless and the feral (street) cats of Pretoria and Centurion. Part of the proceeds also went to the Pretoria Arts Association
